Early voting begins in four weeks, and Election Day is close behind. If your campaign needs yard signs or palm cards, place your order now. Confirm delivery dates and assign responsibility for getting materials to early voting centers and Election Day polling places.

Maryland voting dates and hours

Includes Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25

every day
Election DayTuesday, November 37 a.m. to 8 p.m.

All hours are local Maryland time. During early voting, voters may use any early voting center in their county. On Election Day, voters should go to their assigned polling place. [1, 2]

Order yard signs and palm cards now

Check your inventory, approve final artwork, and confirm quantities, sign stakes, production time, and delivery. Set a delivery date that leaves time to inspect and distribute materials before October 22. Proofread candidate names, office titles, contact information, and any voting dates printed on the cards.

Identify polling locations and assign coverage

Identify the Election Day polling locations your campaign wants to prioritize. Keep a separate list of early voting centers. For each location, record the address, sign quantity, delivery time, volunteer lead, and backup contact. Assign setup, in-voting checks, and removal, and confirm site access and placement instructions with the local board of elections.

Coordinate with your local central committee

Get signs to your local central committee early and ask it to assist with Election Day placement. Confirm which locations its volunteers can cover and who will pick up the materials. Label sign bundles by candidate and location.

Each campaign should arrange its own sign placement team. Central committee help is valuable, but the campaign should retain responsibility for confirming that its signs are out at the assigned locations.

Keep signs and palm card distribution outside the posted no electioneering boundary, and follow each site’s placement and removal instructions. [2]
